5 Ways Atlanta Shined for Super Bowl LVIII

Once again, all Atlantans should be proud of the way our city shined this weekend.  The Super Bowl is a huge event that is the most watched event every year.  It is an opportunity for the host city to shine or to be ridiculed by the media and our guests.  I couldn't be more proud of the way Atlanta handled its day in the spot
light.

Here are 5 Ways we shined for this event:

  1. Weather:   The advantage has over locations farther south is that we get to enjoy four seasons.  The summers can be hot but in general we get some real gifts during the hardship of winter.  This weekend was one of those gifts.  With the lack of rain and highs in the 60's the Super Bowl fans were given the opportunity to experience what it's like to get these reprieves from winter in the South.
  2. Security: This time the city was ready.  Security was everywhere from the Mercedes Benz stadium to Lenox Mall. The police force was showing it's colors.  I can't tell you how many cars with the lights flashing I saw this past week.  A great way to say we are here and we are paying attention.
  3. Talent:  The Super Bowl always brings talent and in this case the Super Bowl had a good supply in the home city. As Atlanta has become a hub for musical talent and the film industry we have famous people around every corner.  The concerts were full but the talent was exceptional this year.
  4. Events:We had  nine days of celebration leading up to the Big Game! Centennial Olympic Park in Downtown Atlanta will hosted free live concerts, games, activities, celebrities and more.  These included  Super Bowl Experience Driven by Hyundai, Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled by Gatorade and Taste of the NFL culminated on game day on Sunday, Feb. 3
  5. Infrastructure:  This city is built for the big event.  Not only do we have one of the most accessible airports in the world but we have hotels, restaurants and bars for all to enjoy.  The host committee did a fantastic job from greeters at the airport to street teams to provide directions.
It's a good day to be an Atlantan!
