Book of Lists=Book of Lies

Hooray! the Business Chronicle has published it's annual listing of Atlanta's "Top" Advertising Agencies. As ususal, you really can't read a lot into this listing. While they have tried to make it more accurate by listing by employees and requiring agencies to submit a list of phone extensions and employees. Again, I find the listing hard to comprehend. The good news is that other than a few exceptions the lists seem to be close in ranking but totally inaccurate in quantitative data. While this is the way we live, I would like to find a more accurate way to make this listing work. Please submit your ideas here along with an actual count of the employees in your organization.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle doesn't seem to have much interest in advertising and marketing, and this year's list reflects it.

Some of the shops listed this year can hardly be considered ad agencies A few better-known agencies are missing altogether. It's slipshod.

Some years back, they used to have 50 or 75 agencies on the list, and a whole section dedicated to the industry. These days, unless it's real estate or construction news, it's not on the Atlanta Business Chronicle's radar.
