Coke's Avatar confirms Super Brand for Super Bowl

The ad industry's morning chatter is just not what it used to be with this year's crop of Super Bowl ads. With that said, our home town guys executed like they were supposed to with big and expensively produced spot for our favorite caramel flavored sugar water. Avatar gave coke a contemporary look in a contemporary age. They have been attempting this for years and I think they made the mark. On the other hand, the Coke Zero attempt to revive Mean Joe Greene was just pitiful. It's frightening that there is someone over there still talking about Mean Joe Greene. You know the other end of the conversation is "I'd like to teach the world to sing". Avatar is a sign that someone over there gets that to lead they need to flex their Super Brand muscles. Pepsi, the imitator, did not do much to build their case. It was a mixed bag. They hit the mark with Pepsi Max and missed big time with MacGruber.
The rest of the lot was pretty mixed. The only real standout was Monster with the Moose spot. Hilarious!
